My Background

Hi! I’m Sarah, and I’m so happy you are here.

Here’s a little about myself:

After graduating from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Biology, I jumped into a career as a wildlife biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. I spent five years monitoring wildlife populations in the state.

Changing physical limitations and goals led me to step away from the field. But my love for wildlife will never change!

Right now, I’m a freelance writer who loves spending all of my spare time outside.

Top Wildlife Moments

I love spending time in nature. So it’s difficult to pick out my top wildlife experiences. But here are a few of my favorites:

  • Spotting a Florida panther in the Everglades
  • Finding a Suwannee Moccasinshell (a rare type of freshwater mussel)
  • Seeing killer whales in Alaska
  • Enjoying a close-up view of a hammerhead shark
  • Hiking through Glacier NP and spotting a moose
